This was probably the highlight of my trip to NY in the summer, The Waterpod Project is an experiment of how we might all be living in the not too distant future. Artists deigned and built the floating home in which they spent 2 weeks in brooklyn, queen, the broxn and here in staten island The structure is totally self reliant and the people we met were fucking amazing I will be very happy if my future end up as beautiful as this www.thewaterpod.org
I love this house, and this was kind of my favourite thing about America, there are just loads and loads of stories waiting to be unearthed, The idea of this dormant house with it's flag and lonely business card just invites so so much imagination on to itself.
So me Marques Toliver are putting out a fanzine together. The fanzine is called I Love America & America Loves Me its a collection of all the drawings and photographs I've collect whilst I've been here and then i wrote a short story about a couple who moved to NY and are mislead by a very lonely man who eats his dog and then a woman called Teluhla s arm. KEEPING IT RED WHITE & BLUE FOR USA TIME
I haven't done any painting for ages but Daisy's apartment in Williamsburg is so lovely and BIG that I got lucky and grabbed a wall Also there are so many DOGS in new york . . . seriously. So i think all my drawings are going to be quite animally.
