SOMMER OF HATE is a feminist sci-fi cartoon where political uncertainty plays out its characters sex lives.
The short follows Sommer and her dog - Ego who leave their home after an unsettling political shift takes place and they no longer feel welcome.
They live in a world (much like ours) ruled by an exhausting tempo of blameless chaos, faceless extremism and home-grown enemies. This has left Sommer and her generationâs attitude towards sex, relationships and commitment in a strange place.
Sommer of Hate was commissioned by the UK public broadcaster, Channel4, as part of its Random Acts Series.
Random Acts is Channel4's short film strand dedicated to the arts and launched in partnership with Dazed&Confused.
